AEW Figures Deny Britt Baker Wants To Leave

Britt Baker AEW

Britt Baker isn’t going anywhere.

Back in January, it was suggested that Tony Khan had become so fed up with Britt Baker that she may never wrestle for AEW again.

The report said Baker was widely unpopular in the locker room and was known to be difficult to work with. However, a later update disputed those claims. At that point, Baker hadn’t wrestled since the previous November, and fast forward to July, that hasn’t changed.

As speculation continues to ebb and flow, it was reported that Britt Baker is trying to get out of her AEW contract, with WWE believed to be waiting in the wings.

Britt Baker Could Stay With AEW Into 2027

Despite those earlier claims, a further report has suggested that Baker isn’t going anywhere, and more importantly, hasn’t been trying to.

According to Fightful Select, those familiar with Baker’s situation noted that stories of her actively trying to leave AEW were “news to them.” Furthermore, the star has more than a year left on her contract, and with injury time added, she may be tied to the company until 2027.

Baker had been due to feud with Serena Deeb, but those plans never came together, but that doesn’t mean there haven’t been other pitches for her to return to work. In fact, Baker is said to be open to returning to television, even though this hasn’t happened as yet.

There had been internal discussions regarding Baker having a “prominent” match at Double or Nothing, but it’s unclear as to whether that conversation even made its way to Baker.

Each source Fightful spoke to denied that Baker is trying to leave AEW.
