AEW Dynamite Sees Jon Moxley Continue Brutal Feud With Don Callis Family

The Road to AEW Revolution heated up tonight on Dynamite as the promotion continued the build towards its first Pay-Per-View of the new year, where MJF will defend his title against Hangman Page.

The AEW World Champion will meet his challenger face-to-face in the ring tonight as they decide the stipulation for their World Championship fight. Hangman Page announced last week that he will never challenge for the title again if he loses to MJF.

The night began similarly to how it began last week, with the Continental Champion, Jon Moxley, taking on a member of the Don Callis Family in a Championship Eliminator match.

Jon Moxley earns a hard-fought win on AEW Dynamite

After defeating Mark Davis in the opening match last week, El Clon stepped up to the champion tonight. The match was being fought under Continental Classic rules, with everyone banned from ringside and with a 20-minute time limit.

Moxley was extremely dominant in the early parts of the match, making the fight seem heavily one-sided. Clon eventually fought his way back into the match and turned the tide against the champion.

Both wrestlers kept exchanging momentum during the match, as they both dominated for large phases of the match. As the match headed into the final minutes, Clon almost got the win with a double foot stomp from the top rope to Mox’s stomach.

The champion kicked out in the nick of time and hit a surprise Paradigm Shift on Clon. Instead of going for the win right there, he followed it up with a Death Rider for good measure and then pinned him in the middle of the ring to earn the win.
