There are four men set for the semifinals of the Owen Hart Cup with CM Punk set to face an old rival on Collision.

The Owen Hart Foundation Tournament that is also known as the Owen Hart Cup started at the AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view last weekend. CM Punk defeated Satoshi Kojima in his match to move on to the semifinals of the tournament.

During last night’s AEW Collision episode, which was taped on Thursday, they had three more semifinal matches.

* Powerhouse Hobbs beat Dustin Rhodes to move on to the semifinals of the tournament. Dustin was the only man in the tournament that actually knew and wrestled the late, great Owen Hart, who passed away tragically in 1999. It meant a lot to Dustin to be in the tournament.

* Ricky Starks beat Juice Robinson in the other semifinal match.

* Samoa Joe beat Roderick Strong in the main event of the show. CM Punk was on commentary for the match because he will face the winner in the semifinals of the tournament.

After the match, the ROH TV Champion Samoa Joe attacked Strong with a powerslam onto a steel chair. Strong was put on a stretcher while CM Punk and Strong’s friend Adam Cole checked on Roderick as medical personnel looked after him.

All of this means that the Owen Hart Cup tournament semifinals will take place with these two matches: Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Ricky Starks and CM Punk vs. Samoa Joe.

While Hobbs and Starks have had a rivalry in AEW, the history between CM Punk and Samoa Joe goes back nearly 20 years to when they were top guys in Ring of Honor early in their careers.
