Current AEW Champion Reaches Incredible Milestone

Congratulations go out to a current AEW wrestler on their lengthy reign holding one of the company’s top titles.

All Elite Wrestling created the TBS Championship for the women’s division with the first champion crowned on January 5th, 2022 – the first episode of Dynamite that year. The woman that won that title was Jade Cargill, who has gone on to hold the TBS Championship for a whopping 500 days.

Jade Cargill has been so impressive during her AEW career which started in November 2020 that she has amassed an impressive record of 59 wins with zero losses. While AEW doesn’t promote records as much as it used to, it’s still quite a feat to be undefeated in two and a half years of competing in All Elite Wrestling.

As you can see below, All Elite Wrestling congratulated Cargill on the 500-day title reign.

While Cargill has had a dominant reign as the TBS Champion, she has been kept away from the AEW Women’s Championship. Perhaps if she loses the TBS Championship she will then go after the Women’s Championship, but for now, she’s focusing on her own title.

Recently, Cargill started a feud with Taya Valkyrie, who is a former Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion. The two women have had issues partly because Cargill doesn’t like that Valkyrie uses the Jaded finishing move that Cargill uses. What’s interesting about that is that Valkyrie has been wrestling for many years and was doing the Road to Valhalla move for many years before Cargill was even wrestling.

Taya Valkyrie was storyline suspended for attacking a referee in the past, but she came back to AEW on Rampage this past Friday.

At AEW Double or Nothing on May 28th, Cargill will defend her championship against Valkyrie in what will likely be the champion’s toughest test so far.
