AEW All Out Main Event Plans Reportedly Changed

Kenny Omega

The original plans for the main event of AEW All Out on September 5 have reportedly changed, according to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Adam Page was previously earmarked for a title shot against AEW World Champion Kenny Omega, but apparently that is no longer the case.

At AEW Fight For The Fallen, Hangman opened the show with The Dark Order in one of the most iconic entrances in company history. Donning the colours of his friend’s group, Page looked to solidify his place as the number one contender to Omega’s title. In the process, he also hoped to secure The Dark Order a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

Page teamed with John Silver, Alex Reynolds, Stu Grayson, and Evil Uno to face the all-star Elite Squad of Omega, The Young Bucks, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson in ten-man tag team action. Should Page and The Dark Order win they’d get the title shots.

With the fans in Charlotte, North Carolina firmly behind Page, a hush fell over the crowd when Kenny Omega managed to put his former tag team partner away with the One Winged Angel to win the match and dash Page’s dreams once again.

Now Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has reported that Page was figured into the title picture for the All Out show in September but those plans appear to have changed.

“Adam Page is not getting the main event for All Out with Kenny Omega. At one point it was the plan but plans change. The ten-man tag was designed to shock people when they veered off that match, but one would think they will be going to it later.”

Meltzer then went on to discuss possible opponents for Omega, including Christian Cage and Eddie Kingston. Cage has been touted for a title shot of some kind in recent weeks as he remains undefeated in AEW. Kingston has a long-standing rivalry with Omega and The Elite dating back to his friend Jon Moxley’s own issues with the group.
