Adam Cole Sent To Hospital After AEW Grand Slam

Adam Cole

Adam Cole had a rough night in New York City.

MJF had one of the toughest challenges of his AEW Title reign at Grand Slam as he was challenged for the gold by Samoa Joe. The champion was seen arriving with Adam Cole earlier in the night but as MJF cut a promo to camera, Cole received a phone call from a bed-ridden Roderick Strong as he continued to vie for his attention.

That kept Adam Cole away from MJF’s match with Samoa Joe initially but as the champion looked to be fading in the Coquina Clutch, Cole ran to ringside to will his friend on, which did the trick as MJF fought back to escape. However, Cole jumped from the stage to ringside and seemingly hurt his ankle upon landing. Cole was able to help distract Joe long enough for MJF to choke the challenger out with his wrist tape to retain his title.

Adam Cole on crutches after Grand Slam

Fightful Select reported that Adam Cole suffered an injury after he jumped from the ramp down to ringside and he could be seen limping almost immediately afterward. With the star in obvious pain backstage, he was taken to hospital and worryingly was later seen walking on crutches after leaving.

Cole was not the only star seemingly hurt on the show as Jon Moxley was also believed to have suffered a mild concussion in his bout against Rey Fenix which had a surprising ending as a result.
