Absent WWE Star Reveals If Royal Rumble Surprise Is Possible
A major WWE superstar has explained why an in-ring return at the Royal Rumble is unlikely.
After beating Cody Rhodes to win the “coveted” WWE Crown Jewel Championship, former 6-time WWE World Champion Seth Rollins was forced to vacate the World Title.
During the match against Rhodes at Crown Jewel, Rollins suffered a shoulder injury that led to surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff.
Since WWE knew he was being injured, Rollins was subsequently attacked by The Vision’s Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed (with Paul Heyman), even though Rollins was the leader of the group. That means whenever Rollins comes back, he has a ready-made feud against The Vision, with Rollins likely back in a babyface role.
After missing about three months of action, many fans are wondering when Rollins may return to the ring.
While promoting the WWE Royal Rumble on ESPN’s First Take, Seth Rollins made it clear that a Royal Rumble return likely isn’t happening for him.
“Well, well, pump the brakes on me participating in the Royal Rumble. I’m not ready there yet. I just had my rotator cuff done in October. I’ve got a couple months left to go. I wish I could get myself in there, but that’s not going to be the case.”
Seth Rollins Doesn’t Plan On Being In The WWE Men’s Royal Rumble
As the questions persisted about Rollins potentially being in the Royal Rumble, The Architect shot that down matter-of-factly.
“Oh, man. No, you know what? I’ll give it away. I’m not going to be at the Rumble. I cannot. I can’t. I just can’t. I would love to be in there and dump all those dudes over the top rope and punch my card to WrestleMania, but the doctors are just not going to let it happen this time around, unfortunately.”
