A former WWE RAW Women’s Champion and SmackDown star bids farewell with an emotional message, as she was part of the recent mass releases from the company. The star in discussion is Nikki Cross.

After years of grinding on the indies, Nikki Cross joined the WWE in 2016. After a few years on the developmental brand, NXT, Nikki was called up to the main roster in 2019. During her tenure, Cross won the 24/7 Championship 11 times, the women’s tag team championship 3 times, and the RAW Women’s title once as well. In 2024, Nikki Cross was revealed as a member of a new faction, Wyatt Sicks, in the memory of the late great Bray Wyatt.

After nearly two years in the supernatural faction, Nikki Cross has unfortunately been released from the WWE along with all of her stablemates. The Wyatt Sicks members, Uncle Howdy, Dexter Lumis, Joe Gacy, Rowan, and Nikki were part of the recent mass releases by the Stamford-based promotion. Popular stars like Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, Kairi Sane, Zoey Stark, and more were also let go in the budget cuts.

Nikki Cross sent out a heartfelt goodbye message following her WWE release

Following her release, Nikki Cross refused to burn bridges with the WWE and sent out a positive message through social media. Taking to the X social media platform, Nikki thanked the Stamford-based promotion while bidding goodbye. Cross also thanked backstage people like Robbie Brookside and William Regal for giving her the opportunity. In conclusion, Nikki Cross offered thanks to the wrestlers, coaches, producers, and her colleagues:

Goodbye and Thank you WWE I’m really excited for whatever my next chapter will hold. Thank you all for the continued love and support. Special thank you to Robbie Brookside and William Regal for helping this dream come true. Thank you to the wrestlers, coaches, producers and all the backstage crew who make all this possible. To the amazing girls in locker room ❤️” Nikki wrote.

After being let go by the WWE, Nikki Cross will now be called by her previous name on the independents, ‘Nikki Storm.’ Many fans on social media are already asking Nikki to join All Elite Wrestling following her release as well. Fans will have to wait and see what the future holds for the former RAW Women’s Champion.
