This current AEW and former WWE star feels he is being underutilised.

Johnny TV, who wrestled as John Morrison in WWE (a play on the name of famous rock musician Jim Morrison), has been with AEW full-time since 2023.

During this time, Morrison has not won any titles. He has been part of the MxM TV stable with Mansoor and Mason Madden, which was called MxM Collection before Taya Valkyrie joined.

He recently opened up on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight about feeling like he’s been underutilised in the Tony Khan-led promotion.

For me, right now in AEW, I feel underutilized. And I can’t blame anyone. It’s just how wrestling promotions work.

There’s only enough TV time for a certain amount of people. And those people at AEW, we’ve coined the term ‘the island.’

Those people are on the island, so to speak. And I don’t feel like I’m on the island with Tony or AEW right now. Because of that, I feel like I’m doing 10, 20% of what I’m capable of, storytelling-wise, wrestling-wise, in the ring.

Former WWE Star John Morrison Talks About Wanting To Be A World Champion

Despite having held 10 titles during his WWE run, six of them were tag titles, and Morrison said elsewhere on the episode that he still wishes to have a World Championship run in either WWE or AEW at age 46.

He explained that things come in waves in wrestling, and if one rides the wave, it takes them places.
