The fifth and final episode of WWE’s 50 Greatest Tag Team Countdown premiered today on Peacock/WWE Network.

The 50 Greatest WWE Tag Teams

Since there might be some confusion if I don’t explain it again, here were the ground rules explained in the opening episode.

It was made clear by the hosts (Tyler Breeze and Fandango) that they will be ranking WWE tag teams over the last 50 years, so as much as they like WCW tag teams like Harlem Heat and the Hollywood Blonds, they won’t be on the list. The way the list was ranked was by looking at the title reigns, the longevity and the cultural impact they had. They encouraged fans to talk about the list using the hashtag #WWE50GreatestTagTeams as well.

Here were the rankings from #50 to #1.

3. Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart)

2. The Hardy Boyz (Matt & Jeff Hardy)

1. The New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods)

TJR Thoughts: I’m not that surprised by the order. I think I’d put the Hardy Boyz first and I don’t know if Matt Hardy working for AEW is why New Day is first or any of that. I just think The Hardys are probably the best. I think the Dudleys should be in the top three because they teamed together longer than Edge & Christian, so I think that should count for something. The Hart Foundation is my favorite team as a kid and I’m glad they are in the top five too.

I would go:

1. The Hardy Boyz

2. The New Day

3. The Dudley Boyz

4. The Hart Foundation

5. Edge & Christian

I’m being unbiased too. I saw E&C in the indies before their WWE run. They are my favorite team, but their two years together is not as impressive as the other teams that were together longer. I like all five teams really, but Edge & Christian and Hart Foundation are my two favorites.

People are going to argue about this stuff all the time and that’s fine. It’s up for debate. The choice is yours.
