The WWE Stars Shawn Michaels Wishes He Could Wrestle
Shawn Michaels is one of the greatest WWE stars of all time and now he’s shared which of the current crop of talent he’d have loved to face.
Shawn Michaels was one of the faces of WWE in the nineties as the New Generation took the company past the end of Hulkamania. Injury put a stop to Michaels’ controversial career but a second act was to follow in 2002 that for many surpassed what he achieved in his first run.
Michaels’ full-time WWE career ended in 2010 after he lost a ‘Streak vs. Career’ match against The Undertaker in the main event of WrestleMania 26. However, The Heartbreak Kid did return for an ill-fated tag team match at Crown Jewel in 2018 that is best forgotten.
Which WWE Stars Would Shawn Michaels Want To Face?
Speaking on The Schmo, Shawn Michaels was asked how he’d fair in the modern era and rattled off some current WWE stars he thinks he could have done great things with:
A guy like Seth Rollins, I think I could get in there with and do fantastic stuff. Cody [Rhodes] is another one. Logan Paul, I think he’s somebody that’s incredibly talented. There are a number of guys that I look at and I think to myself, ‘Gosh if you were 20 years younger, wouldn’t it be really cool [to wrestle]?’
However, don’t expect Michaels to get back in the ring again as he explained that he’s very happy with his role in shaping the future of WWE behind the scenes:
I’m very happy with what I’m doing. I think the future of the WWE is in great hands with where it’s going. I like my place behind the scenes now. We’re part of a generation that you sort of never say goodbye, but I’ve got no problem saying goodbye and I’m looking forward to the future.
