Former WWE Champion Set To Leave AEW

Tony Khan AEW Triple H WWE

Tony Khan continues to adjust the AEW roster.

Although the focus is often on who AEW is looking to sign, several stars have left the company in 2024. In recent weeks, the likes of Ethan Page, Mark Henry, and Arn Anderson have all moved on, with Page already looking to establish himself in WWE with NXT.

Meanwhile, in early April it was revealed that Matt Hardy had also decided to let his contract expire and he’s been working with TNA since. Hardy’s departure sparked speculation his brother Jeff could follow him out of the company given the pair have repeatedly stated their desire to end their careers together.

During an episode of his podcast, Matt hinted Jeff Hardy could leave AEW, confirming his contract expires in June. Matt reiterated that Jeff is medically cleared to wrestle after suffering a broken nose back in February.

Jeff Hardy Set To Leave AEW

It’s now been reported via Fightful Select that Jeff Hardy will become a free agent on June 14th. There had been a belief time could and would be added on due to his time out of the ring, but that doesn’t seem to have been the case.

TNA Wrestling sources said they would be interested in Hardy when he becomes available. The same sources commented that things had gone well with Matt in recent weeks, and the company was open to working with him on additional dates.

The report added that AEW had held talks with Matt over renewing his deal in April, but there haven’t been “extended conversations” about bringing him back.
