TJR Wrestling

It was announced this afternoon that Alexa Bliss is not medically cleared to compete in this Sunday’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Here is the WWE.com post about it:

Alexa Bliss is not medically cleared to compete at WWE Money in the Bank this Sunday, and has been removed from the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. A suitable replacement for Alexa will be announced.

Stay with WWE.com for more on this developing story.

There is no word on what the issue is with Bliss, but she hasn’t wrestled that much on television in the last eight months. She had a concussion at some point and some minor injuries as well, but nothing specific has been announced from WWE.

As for a replacement, Nikki Cross makes the most sense since Bliss interacted with her on Raw this past Monday and Cross won a 4-Way match with other Money in the Bank competitors Naomi, Natalya and Dana Brooke. Cross pinned Natalya in that match.

Bliss lost a match to Naomi on Raw on April 29 where she had the wrong gear on and issues with her shoes, so it was made to make her look incompetent while giving Naomi a win.

Best wishes to the lovely Miss Bliss in her recovery from whatever it is that is causing her to not be able to compete this Sunday.

The seven women in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match right now are Natalya, Naomi, Dana Brooke, Bayley, Mandy Rose, Ember Moon and Carmella. We will post another update when they announce the eight woman in the match.

Nikki Cross is the replacement for Bliss and that has been confirmed by WWE in the video below.

TJR Thoughts: I feel bad for Bliss and hope it’s not a concussion. It’s a tough business and she’s small, so there are going to be a lot of bumps and bruises along the way. I like her a lot as a performer, she always gets a good reaction and she has improved in the ring.

With that said, Nikki Cross should do well. She’s a good worker that knows how to get reactions from the crowd.
