RK-Bro Win Tag Team Gold At SummerSlam

RK-Bro

WWE’s unlikely duo RK-Bro are the new RAW Tag Team Champions!

In the opening contest of WWE’s summer spectacular Riddle and Randy Orton overcame AJ Styles and Omos much to the delight of those in attendance.

Orton gained momentum for RK-Bro early on but the arrival of Omos, switched the upper hand well and truly back to the champions.

Riddle ended up taking a brutal Chokeslam onto the apron from the giant. However, Riddle somehow roused himself to push Omos into the ring post before being on the end of a reverse DDT on the outside from Styles.

The former World Champion quickly looked for the Phenomenal Forearm but Orton rolled out of the way. Styles blocked an RKO, rolling up The Viper. Orton quickly kicked out landing the RKO on Styles to pick up the win.

Randy Orton and Riddle originally began teaming together back in April. After Riddle defeated Orton on RAW the unlikely duo came together for a string of tag team victories. However, the team’s progress was halted when Orton disappeared from television just ahead of Money In The Bank.

Following his return to WWE, the August 9th episode of RAW went off the air with Randy Orton delivering an RKO to Riddle. All the way through the show Riddle had been trying to get Orton to re-join him, but his efforts were all in vein.

Fast forward seven days and Orton opened the show once more, but he was quickly joined in the ring by Riddle. The former United States Champion said that he understood that Orton was only trying to teach him how to hit an RKO properly by leaving him laying the week before.

The pair were then interrupted by AJ Styles and Omos, which led to a match between Riddle and Styles. While Styles was eventually victorious, the real story was Orton leaving Riddle to fend for himself.

Later on in the show, Orton went one-on-one with Omos. After Styles interfered the referee called for the bell and the disqualification. With the RAW Tag Team Champions going to work on Orton, Riddle ran in to make the save. Orton grabbed a mic and said that respect needed to be earned, and… Riddle had done just that. RK-Bro was officially back together!

A hyped up Riddle then grabbed a mic of his own to lay down the challenge for the Tag Team Champions at SummerSlam.
