Zelina Vega was one of the 25 superstars released by WWE on April 24, 2026, as part of a major round of post-WrestleMania 42 roster cuts.

Soon after, Zelina logged on to her Twitter account to share a heartfelt message, expressing her gratitude to those who supported her throughout the years.

She tweeted, “My fans mean the absolute world to me. I’ve lost a lot this year and in my life in general.. but I gained all of you. Thank you. Your support means more than you’ll ever know.”

Zelina Vega Says TKO Gave Her The Release News, Not WWE

She also went live on her Twitch stream, where she revealed that she received a direct call from TKO Group Holdings regarding her release, rather than from WWE itself.

Vega also expressed frustration at a journalist who broke the news of her release before she had the chance to share it with her fans personally.

When people call me from there, usually it would say Stamford calling you. That’s when your heart is like, ‘Oh, f**k.’ But this time it said TKO, which sounds like, ‘Ah, very telling.’ 5:09 pm is when I found out.

I was so shocked. But yeah, I also would have appreciated if Sean Ross Sapp or whoever the f**k announced it could have at least given me the decency to like let me do it myself first. But f**k you, dude.

Zelina Vega’s sudden release came as a shock to the WWE Universe, especially since she had been featured as the second-ever Women’s United States Champion and was a key member of the LWO.

She and her husband, Aleister Black, were also recently involved in an interesting storyline with Randy Orton.

Zelina Vega joined WWE in June 2017, initially starting her run as the manager for Andrade. Before that, she had made several brief appearances, including as one of Adam Rose’s Rosebuds.
