A new report has shed some light on how WWE believes it’s important to build for the future by featuring young talent.

Every week on WWE TV this year, there are young superstars in their early to mid-20s that get to perform for the WWE Universe. Some of them ply their trade in NXT like Carmelo Hayes, Bron Breakker, Roxanne Perez and Tiffany Stratton, but there are many of them on the main roster too.

The Smackdown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley is 26 years old and Dominik Mysterio is 25 years old with both of them thriving while having the best runs of their career.

Another young superstar doing really these days is the United States Champion Austin Theory, who at 25 years old (26 in August) is already a two-time US Champion, Money in the Bank winner and a guy that beat John Cena at WrestleMania 39 as well.

In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE is focused on featuring younger talent.

“There is a big internal focus right now to get younger aged talent on Raw and Smackdown right now.”

One of the ways to get younger talent on Raw & Smackdown is to promote NXT wrestlers to the main roster. That’s something did earlier this month when they held the WWE Draft. Some of those younger talents are in their 20s while some are in their early 30s.
