WWE Planted Seeds For Two Blockbuster Matches At Royal Rumble
The road to WrestleMania has officially begun following the Royal Rumble.
The premium live event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, saw the Men’s Royal Rumble serve as the main event of the night. Top contenders from across the WWE landscape entered the match, with stars from Raw, SmackDown, and even AAA competing for the opportunity.
Roman Reigns, who entered the match at #26, ultimately won the Men’s Royal Rumble. Following the event, WWE analyst Sam Roberts released an emergency episode reacting to the Royal Rumble and its major takeaways.
Speaking on his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Roberts stated that WWE teased two potential blockbuster rivalries during the men’s Royal Rumble match that will take shape in the coming months.
According to Roberts, Brock Lesnar eliminating Oba Femi and Gunther tossing out Randy Orton were carefully planned segments, which WWE will turn into a full-fledged rivalry as we head towards WrestleMania 42.
Roberts said, “I think Brock Lesnar eliminating Oba Femi is not an accident. I think Gunther eliminating Randy Orton is not an accident. I think those are two matches that are on the horizon that we just saw the seeds planted for.” (From 18:38)
Liv Morgan’s Potential WWE WrestleMania 42 Opponent
Speaking on the same podcast episode, Sam Roberts also said that he thinks the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble winner, Liv Morgan, will face her Judgment Day partner, Raquel Rodriguez, at WrestleMania in Las Vegas.
I think Raquel’s getting that title on Monday. I think Raquel Rodriguez is getting the women’s world championship. And I think your WrestleMania match is Liv Morgan versus Raquel 100%. I think that’s where we’re going. And I’m I’m all for it. I’m all for it. I think it’s good stuff. (From 23:39)
