WWE Announces Tribute To The Troops 2022 Airdate

The 20th anniversary of WWE Tribute To The Troops will air on Fox.

It has been confirmed by WWE that the 20th anniversary of will take place Saturday, December 17th at 2:30 PM ET on FOX. The news was first reported by FoxNews.com.

There were three matches taped for the 2022 Tribute show after the November 11th edition of Smackdown in Indianapolis, Indiana. The three matches were:

* Imperium (Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER, Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci) vs. Drew McIntyre, Sheamus & Ricochet.

* Smackdown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler vs. Tamina & Emma.

* Braun Strowman vs. LA Knight.

The 2021 edition of Tribute to the Troops was headlined by Roman Reigns defeating Shinsuke Nakamura in the main event.

It was also noted by WWE that last year’s event on FOX was the most-watched Tribute To The Troops since 2014, drawing more than 2 million viewers.

WWE’s Tribute to the Troops specials have aired since December 2003, except for 2019. The event has been held in countries like Iraq and Afghanistan to entertain the troops that are over there. That stopped in 2010 when WWE chose to film the special in America instead.

Some of WWE’s biggest names of all time have been part of the Tribute to the Troops events like “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Triple H, John Cena and Roman Reigns.
