WWE To Create A New Women’s Championship

WWE Women's Championship

A new championship is coming to WWE television.

During NXT Stand & Deliver, General Manager Ava announced the introduction of the Women’s North American Championship. There’s no news on when the title will be introduced or how the first-ever champion will be decided.

The move is sure to be a popular one, with both fans and WWE Superstars calling for another women’s title for several years.

Following the announcement Booker T said on commentary that he’d been waiting for a new title to be announced for “quite some time.”

At present there is only one women’s title in NXT after the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles were merged with the Women’s Tag Team Titles on the main roster back in June 2023.

The current men’s North American Champion is Oba Femi — who retained the gold with a win over Dijak and Josh Briggs at Stand & Deliver.

WWE-Bound Star Shown At Stand & Deliver

Shortly after the announcement, Giulia was shown in the crowd at Stand & Deliver to a huge reaction. Giulia is expected to sign with WWE later in 2024 after completing previously agreed dates elsewhere.

The appearance comes after it was reported WWE is impressed with her progress in learning English. The same report also dismissed suggestions that the company has concerns over her stiff in-ring style.

However, Giulia will not be moving straight to the main roster.
