WWE SummerSlam Week Returning to Brooklyn in 2018

SummerSlam Week will be returning to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York next year. WWE.com has confirmed this after it first being reported by The New York Post.

This will be the fourth consecutive year SummerSlam will be at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn after the event’s six-year run at Los Angeles’ Staples Center came to an end in 2015.

In regards to the dates for next year’s SummerSlam Week, they are as follows:

2018 Key Dates:

  • Saturday, August 18 – NXT
  • Sunday, August 19 – SummerSlam
  • Monday August 20 – Monday Night Raw
  • Tuesday, August 21 – SmackDown Live

The Executive Vice President for programming for Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment had the following to say about bringing SummerSlam Week back to Brooklyn for another year (as mentioned in The New York Post’s coverage:

“Having [WWE] here just does so much [for us]. These are destination events. These are not properties like a concert that is hitting the next city 100 miles away the next night. This is a one-off, mega-event.”

“Barclays Center and NYC & Company continue to be amazing partners for WWE, and we are thrilled to bring SummerSlam Week back to New York City next year,” said John P. Saboor, WWE Executive Vice President, Special Events. “We look forward to working with our partners to build upon the incredible success of the last three years to create another unprecedented celebration for the WWE Universe.”

WWE.com states that ticket and suite information for next year’s SummerSlam week will be announced in the near future.
