Beloved WWE Star’s Main Roster Call-Up Scrapped At Last Minute
A beloved WWE talent was strongly considered for a main roster call-up recently.
Early January witnessed multiple wrestlers from NXT get promoted, including Je’von Evans, Jordynne Grace, Trick Williams, and Oba Femi, to either Raw or SmackDown.
On that list was one Lola Vice.
Since 2022, she has been signed to the Stamford promotion, where she debuted as a heel in 2023. Over time, she has competed in high-profile matches, including challenging for the Women’s NXT Championship.
Vice currently is a babyface on the developmental brand and is involved in a feud with Kelani Jordan, with whom she shares a long-lasting in-ring history.
Apart from WWE, the 27-year-old also performs in AAA Lucha Libre, a Mexican promotion which the company acquired last year. In AAA, she serves as one-half of the World Mixed Tag Team Champions alongside Mr. Iguana.
A report by Bodyslam.net’s Cory Hays reveals that Lola Vice was strongly considered for a call-up on the main roster before the higher-ups decided to pause it.
They were close to calling her up with the latest batch. They held off for now. She has come a long way and she definitely deserves to be on the main roster.
Lola Vice Claims She Is Ready For WWE Main Roster
Lola Vice’s WWE main roster call-up has been merely paused and not canceled.
Taking into account that she was considered for a promotion speaks volumes about how greatly the higher-ups view Vice as a talent.
The Miami-born superstar recently spoke on the Busted Open podcast, where she was asked about earlier reports claiming that she was considered for SmackDown.
Knowing full well about her own contributions towards WWE, Vice stated that she has been expecting a call.
Yeah, of course I’m looking for that moment to get the call-up. I’m ready. I’ve always been the type of performer who rises to the occasion, and I’ve proved that — especially in AAA. Every time I go there, it’s at least 10,000 people. I’ve worked huge shows, and I’ve grown so much as a performer.
Now more than ever, I’m ready. I’m just waiting for the opportunity for them to call me up, because I’m going to take the main roster by storm. Seeing Trick Williams on the main roster excelling the way he is — that’s inspiring to me. It makes me think, okay, I’m ready for a change. I’ve proved enough.
