Multiple WWE Stars Injured During 2023 Royal Rumble

WWE Women's Royal Rumble 2023

Both winners of the men’s and women’s 2023 Royal Rumble matches were among those injured during the event.

Iron woman Rhea Ripley dislocated her knee during the match and had to pop it back in before going on to eliminate seven other competitors in her record-breaking performance.

Speaking at the Royal Rumble press conference, Ripley discussed her injuries and how The Judgment Day plans to celebrate her success:

“My knees aren’t very good in general. My knee did dislocate for a second, and then it went back in.”

Sonya Deville will be hoping for a quick recovery ahead of her match this week with Charlotte for the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship. Deville required stitches after taking a kick to the head from Asuka, who was competing in her first Rumble match since winning in 2018.

After a lengthy spell on the sidelines following a torn pectoral muscle, severe injuries are something Men’s Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes will be hoping to avoid.

The American Nightmare informed Ryan Satin after the event that he had suffered damage to his ear, but was able to continue.

“I popped my eardrum, but I don’t care. Just a wonderful Royal Rumble,”

Rhodes, who made his WWE comeback at last year’s Wrestlemania, continued his feud with Seth Rollins during the Rumble, before eliminating Logan Paul and Gunther to book his place in what looks to be a massive main event against Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Heavyweight Championship.
