Plans are coming together for the WWE Draft.

The 2024 WWE Draft will be held on April 26th and 29th, and huge changes are expected. It’s already been reported that Ilja Dragunov and Carmelo Hayes are heading to the main roster, but it seems one NXT star won’t be joining them.

Despite his recent incredible run and increased popularity, according to a new report from Corey Brennan via Fightful Select, Trick Williams will be staying put in NXT. However, that doesn’t mean main roster officials aren’t high on him, and there aren’t big plans on the way.

Brennan notes that Williams be a “focal point” of NXT following the Draft, and he’s long been seen as a star of the future.

Williams has been described as “an exceptional talent” to work with, while his work ethic and ability to pick up new skills very quickly has gained him several admirers.

WWE NXT Entering New Era

In recent weeks much has been made about WWE entering the so-called “Triple H era” as the company continues to distance itself from Vince McMahon. The point was hammered home during WrestleMania weekend, while several changes have been made to the on-screen product.

Speaking in an interview shortly after WrestleMania, NXT boss Shawn Michaels said the new era isn’t confirmed to the main roster. Michaels promised that there are big things to come in NXT as the brand continues to grow.
