Shawn Michaels believes that his vision of WWE’s NXT brand is “only getting started.”

As a two-time WWE Hall of Famer who many people consider to be one of the greatest professional wrestlers ever, the “Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels is one of the greatest legends in company history.

While some WWE legends sit at home doing other things with their lives, Michaels is giving back to the business he loves by running the NXT brand.

Michaels is WWE’s Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative. A recent memo revealed that WWE’s Talent Development and Recruiting will now be reporting to Michaels after a shakeup in the company’s talent relations department.

Throughout WrestleMania 40 weekend, many people within WWE spoke about the “new era” of the company while praising Triple H, who is the Chief Content Officer that is running the company along with WWE President Nick Khan.

Since the fall of 2021, Shawn Michaels has been the guy in charge of WWE’s NXT brand, which is the role his best friend Triple H was in for about a decade until a heart issue sidelined him.

On WrestleMania Saturday, NXT held their biggest PLE of the year called Stand & Deliver, which saw Roxanne Perez become a two-time NXT Women’s Champion while Trick Williams beat Carmelo Hayes in the main event.

Shawn Michaels Comments On WWE’s New Era

In an interview with WWE x Figures YouTube, Shawn Michaels reminded fans that there’s a lot more coming for NXT down the road.

“WrestleMania 40, coming off a huge blockbuster weekend for the WWE, and sometimes what might get lost in the shuffle is NXT. Obviously I can’t allow that to happen. So NXT, I have to say I’m very honored and proud to say that we set an all time attendance record 16,545 people in that building. Huge to kick off WrestleMania weekend. Thrilled about everything that’s been going on.”

“Everybody, as you heard last night, talking about a new era in the WWE. That is in fact a true statement. That is a new era, a new time. In NXT, we got a lot more coming down the road. So get ready, buckle up, because we are only getting started.”

This past Tuesday on NXT TV, the exciting team of Nathan Frazer & Axiom became Tag Team Champions when they beat Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin in an incredible match. Michaels is a father figure to a lot of the talent in NXT and as you can see below, he took some photos with the new champions.
