Ex-WWE Star Says Day 1 Raw Segment Was Perfect
A former WWE star praised a segment from the Day 1 episode of Raw while going so far as to say it was “perfect.”
The New Year’s Day episode of WWE Monday Night Raw was known as Day 1 and it featured some big matches including Seth Rollins beating Drew McIntyre to retain the World Heavyweight Title and Nia Jax beating Becky Lynch.
In addition to that, The Rock made a surprise appearance and received a huge ovation from the San Diego crowd. The Rock shut up former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal by hitting him with a spinebuster and People’s Elbow. The Rock also referenced Roman Reigns by talking about sitting at the Head of the Table.
While speaking on the Busted Open Radio show that he co-hosts, former WWE star and current TNA Digital Media Champion Tommy Dreamer spoke about why he felt like The Rock’s return was booked perfectly.
“WWE did it amazingly. The setup was perfect. Friggin’ great. The boos, [Jinder’s] promo, and then you can just listen to it, the pop, and how it just resonated for so long for just [The Rock] standing there. I loved the physicality.”
“Then drops the line, ‘Maybe I’ll sit at the head of the table.’… It’s explosive.”
“They did it perfect. I can’t even call it a home run, it was a grand slam.”
What Is Happening On The Second WWE Raw Episode Of 2024?
The second episode of Raw takes place on January 8th in Portland. One of the big matches on the show will see Cody Rhodes face Shinsuke Nakamura as that rivalry continues. Here’s the lineup:
