WWE Star To Wrestle First PLE Singles Match In 16 Years
At WWE Survivor Series, one superstar will be competing in their first PLE match in 16 years.
The WWE Survivor Series Premium Live Event takes place Saturday, November 26th at the Allstate Arena in Chicago. While the two WarGames will likely get a lot of attention, there is also an interesting grudge match that has an interesting historical note to it.
On the November 17th edition of SmackDown, WWE officially announced Carlito will face Santos Escobar in a singles match at Survivor Series. The reason for the match is that Escobar turned on the LWO group and injured Rey Mysterio, who will likely miss the remainder of 2023 due to a recent knee surgery.
For Carlito, it will be his first singles match on a WWE Premium Live Event (formerly called Pay-Per-View events) in 16 years going back to the Unforgiven PPV in September 2007. At that show, Carlito lost a singles match to Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who is currently his WWE boss as the Chief Content Officer.
After 2007, Carlito formed a tag team with his brother Primo simply known as The Colons and they would go on to be two-time WWE Tag Team Champions. Carlito was released by WWE in May 2010 until he officially returned to the company 13 years later.
Who Else Is Wrestling At WWE Survivor Series?
There are five matches that are officially set for Survivor Series on November 25th. The women’s WarGames match appears to be a 4-on-4 matchup with Damage CTRL’s IYO SKY, Bayley, Kairi Sane & Asuka taking on the team of Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair & Shotzi.
As for the Men’s WarGames match, it currently has four wrestlers on each side, but there are likely going to be additions that will be announced on the November 20th edition of WWE Raw. Currently, the match will see The Judgment Day’s Damian Priest, Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh face off against Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso & Sami Zayn.
The addition to The Judgment Day is expected to be Drew McIntyre while a returning Randy Orton, who has missed a year and a half of action, is likely going to be a part of the Rollins-Rhodes team. The full card is below.

WWE Survivor Series airs on Saturday, November 25th, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, streaming live exclusively on Peacock in the United States and on WWE Network everywhere else.
