A former WWE superstar made his AEW debut during a recent television taping.

This Friday’s edition of AEW Rampage was taped during on Wednesday night, November 30th following a live edition of AEW Dynamite in Indianapolis.

On Dynamite, they announced that Orange Cassidy would defend the AEW-All Atlantic Championship against QT Marshall in a Lumberjack Match that opened the taping. One of the lumberjacks was a wrestler that may be familiar to some WWE fans because it was Kevin Fertig, who fans might remember as Kevin Thorn or Mordecai.

Fertig tweeted photos of his appearance.

During his WWE career, Thorn had multiple runs. In 2004, he portrayed a religious zealous character named Mordecai, who dressed in all white. Mordecai defeated Scotty 2 Hotty at Judgment Day 2004, but it was not an impressive performance. There were hopes that he would become a future opponent of The Undertaker. That did not happen.

In 2006, Fertig was repacked as the vampire character known as Kevin Thorn, who was accompanied by Ariel (Shelly Martinez) when the ECW brand was relaunched that summer. While Thorn would last for the next year, the character ended at that point. In early 2009, Fertig was released by WWE.

Since departing WWE, the 45-year-old Fertig worked for various independent promotions. As noted in his Twitter bio, Fertig is now a real estate agent.
