WWE Star Hints At Penta Rematch 6 Years After AEW Clash
Penta added his first WWE gold to his collection since debuting in the company last year.
Throughout the year, he entered into multiple feuds with Dominik Mysterio but was unable to beat him to win the Intercontinental Championship.
On February 16, 2026, he again became a #1 Contender to Mysterio’s IC title by defeating El Grande Americano in a singles match, with their bout scheduled for March 2.
This time around, Penta was successful in winning the elusive WWE belt after Mysterio’s Judgment Day stablemate, Finn Balor, refused to assist him in the closing minutes.
After ‘Dirty Dom’ missed a 619 attempt, Penta hit his Mexican Destroyer finisher for the victory.
Penta Challenged For A Potential WWE Intercontinental Championship By Rey Fenix
Before jumping to WWE, both Penta and Rey Fenix were talents in All Elite Wrestling.
Appearing as The Lucha Brothers, the real-life siblings competed in several matches as a tag team as well as in singles competition.
Incidentally, they even faced each other multiple times, their final clash coming on the November 11, 2020, taping of AEW Dynamite.
A few weeks before that, they had fought in the first round of the AEW World Championship Eliminator Tournament, where Fenix emerged victorious.
This time around, however, Penta came out as the winner.
Following his brother’s title win over Dominik Mysterio on Monday, Rey Fenix congratulated him through a message on X. The second part of his tweet, though, referred to a challenge and was complemented by a promotional photo ahead of a match they had competed in earler.
Congratulations, my cool brother! ❤️ No one deserves this award more than you! Your discipline and love for this sport will bring you so much more than this. I’m so proud to be your brother.
Congrats brother, you will always be my favorite luchador, I love you.I miss sharing the ring with you, but now I think; would it be good to relive old times?
