Why WWE Star Got Emotional Reading Natalya’s Book
Natalya’s new book has impressed her fellow WWE stars.
Back in March, Natalya announced the release of her new memoir. The book, which features a foreword from The Rock, will hit shelves on October 28.
In an interview at the time, the star explained that she began working on the book in earnest after signing her latest WWE contract in July 2024.
In a new interview with Sean Ross Sapp, Natalya revealed that Bianca Belair was the first person to read her manuscript during an overseas tour.
“That’s the thing is that when people are reading the book, they’re going, ‘I have a whole new respect and a whole different perspective of your life and of who you are.’ The very first person actually to read my book was Bianca Belair.
We were on an overseas trip together and we were just talking about the book and just chatting back and forth. I told her I was writing a book and I said, ‘Actually, I just finished it. Do you want to take a look at the manuscript?’ and she said, ‘Yeah, I’d love to.’
She read the book in two days and she was so excited. Every single chapter, she would be like, texting me and like, ‘I can’t believe this and I need to talk about this and what happened.’”
Belair raced through the book but got emotional along the way. She said that reading it earlier in her career would have given her a much-needed boost.
“She’s like, ‘I read it so fast. It was such an easy read.’ But she’s like, ‘I have a million questions. I had no idea that this was your life.’ So she even got a little emotional about it. She’s like, ‘This is something that I need. Like, I needed this book.’ She goes, ‘I wish I would have read this book before I started my career in WWE because this book lifted me up so much. It’s so powerful.’
I never forgot about what Bianca said about the book because what she took away from the book is exactly what I want every reader to take away. There’s a very strong story.
The book is not so much about wrestling. It’s more about relationships. Wrestling is the backdrop of the book. It’s a lot about relationships and people in my life. It’s a lot about the people in my life that helped me grow—the good and the bad—they helped me grow so much.”
Natalya Worked Closely With The Rock
During the same interview, Natalya opened up about working with The Rock on the book, and how he went above and beyond to make his contribution as meaningful as possible.
The former Women’s Champion said she approached The Great One about writing the foreword during Raw’s premiere on Netflix, and he didn’t even hesitate to say yes.
While working on the foreword, The Rock was also filming the Smashing Machine, so as usual, he had a lot on his plate. Despite this, Natalya revealed that he reached out to her about her book as he wanted to write something particularly meaningful.
