This WWE legend is urging this rising star to take the current point in his career very seriously.

WWE’s young and rising star, Trick Williams, was promoted to the main roster from NXT earlier this year and was signed to the SmackDown brand. Since he debuted on the main roster, Williams regularly got the loudest pops from fans and would consistently get louder reactions than many other stars on the roster.

This led the company to give Williams a push and turn him babyface in his feud against Sami Zayn for the United States Title, which worked in Trick’s favour as Zayn was getting booed by fans despite being a babyface.

Williams won the WWE United States title by defeating Zayn at WrestleMania 42 and retained the gold after defeating Zayn again at Backlash in May.

WWE Hall of Famer, Booker T, who works as a color commentator on NXT and would sing ad-libs during Trick’s entrance along with his music, spoke about some advice he would like to give the rising star on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast.

WWE Legend Booker T Has Advice For Trick Williams

Booker T says that this is a pivotal moment in Trick Williams’ career and that he shouldn’t start believing the hype and get complacent. He uses Roman Reigns as an example of someone to aspire to be like in WWE.

Trick’s in that position now where he’s got to fly. He’s got to really, really fly. I hope he listens to this because I shoot straight. This is the most pivotal time for a young wrestler like Trick Williams. He cannot get complacent. He cannot start believing the hype. This is the time where he’s got to do more than he ever imagined to put himself into position to be that guy.

That guy, such as a Roman Reigns, a guy who over these last 10 years, nobody has had a bad match with Roman Reigns because Roman is a hell of a general. He’s going to go out there and he’s going to take you through that match and he’s going to take you to something so compelling at the end of the night.

He continues by saying that, despite people not liking Reigns, they couldn’t deny how good he was.

No matter how many people did not like Roman Reigns, they’re going to be saying, ‘Damn, he’s good.’ That’s where I need someone like Trick to really be honestly thinking about, focusing on being that guy. That guy that every guy in the locker room looks at him a certain way and they know it when he walks in the room.

When asked if he’s happy with Williams’ progress so far on SmackDown, Booker said that although he’s happy, he’s a coach, so he’s critical of details.

I am, but then again, I’m a coach. I see everything.

Nothing gets over my head and it’s always the small things with me that make the fans feel a certain way, which those are the things that Trick can definitely not get away from if he want to make a splash on the main roster for a meaningful amount of time.
