WWE Star Calls Out Sydney Sweeney: “It Leaves A Wrong Impression”
This WWE star has spoken out about actress Sydney Sweeney’s latest controversy.
Sydney Sweeney is in the news yet again, this time for vandalising the famous Hollywood sign.
The Hollywood actress, who is promoting her lingerie line Syrn, did so most unusually by draping the Hollywood sign in lingerie.
To top it off, her production team did not have the permission to go near the Hollywood sign, even though they revealed that they had a filming permit from FilmLA, but there was no permit to go near the Hollywood sign, which is a highly restricted area surrounded by barbed wire that comes under the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce (Its president and CEOSteve Nissen released a statement claiming he was unaware that Sweeney and her ream were doing such an act).
Sweeney was also at the epicentre of another recent controversy when she promoted American Eagle’s Jeans with the tagline “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans.” The tagline received backlash from many for seemingly promoting racism because jeans sounds like the word “genes,” indicating racial superiority.
WWE Icon CJ Perry A.K.A Lana Calls Out Sydney Sweeney’s Publicity Stunt
Speaking with TMZ’s Inside The Ring podcast, former WWE star Soniya Deville (aka Daria Berenato) and CJ Perry gave their opinion on Sweeney’s move.
Berenato said that Sweeney could have just worn the lingerie, and it would’ve sold.
She didn’t need to do all that. Sydney Sweeney in lingerie is going to sell the lingerie line… I think a simple post would have done it.
When the host said the stunt was successful, Perry interrupted and shared her thoughts, saying it leaves a wrong impression, in adults as well as children.
And then also the second thing, I just think like vandalizing those things, like, it leaves a wrong impression to human beings, to the children, to myself included, because I’m like, do I need to go over and put a big Rusev Day sign up there? Like, do I need to put on a big Daria sign there?
Yeah, like, I immediately am like, I’m gonna grab the bra string, and I’m gonna follow her footsteps, and I’m gonna go behind the Hollywood sign, and I’m gonna be like, Daria, watch Daria in TNA, and watch Rusev on Monday Night RAW, and watch Liv Morgan win the Royal Rumble.”
