WWE Star Breaks Silence After Shocking Title Win
One WWE star has issued their first public comments after one title unexpectedly changed hands on SmackDown.
The January 23rd edition of SmackDown saw three huge title matches take place. Carmelo Hayes held onto his US Title with a victory over Ilja Dragunov, but when the WWE Tag Team Championship was on the line, it was a different story.
The Wyatt Sicks pairing of Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy has held that gold since July 2025, when they defeated The Street Profits, but now their reign is over.
The MFT pairing of Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga captured the title, marking a huge win in both men’s careers. This is the first gold Sikoa has held in the company since he lost the WWE US Title in August 2025.

Incredibly, this is the second time Tama Tonga has captured gold since joining WWE in the spring of 2024. In August of that year, Tonga and Jacob Fatu won the same title from DIY, but Solo Sikoa quickly decided that Fatu should give up his half of the title and gave that to Tonga Loa. In October 2024, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa’s reign ended at the hands of The Motor City Machine Guns.
