A top WWE Superstar has made a surprise cameo appearance for another wrestling promotion.

Over the years, WWE talent have rarely been given authority to appear on other wrestling shows with appearances often restricted to non-televised memorial shows and fundraisers.

The company did give permission, however, for Shinsuke Nakamura to film a pre-recorded message to that aired for the live audience only at DDT Ultimate Party in Tokyo on November 12th.

The huge show, which included a submission victory for former WWE Champion Chris Jericho, included Saki Akai concluded her retirement tour with defeat in a six person tag. Akai teamed with Hideki Okatani and Yukio Sakaguchi to battle Kazusada Higuchi, Miyu Yamashita and Naomichi Marufuji, with Yamashita scoring the winning fall over the retiring star.

The post-match festivities saw Akai honoured by DDT President Sanshiro Takagi, with a presentation of flowers and the playing of a tribute video package that included Nakamura’s message.

The WWE Superstar stood backstage at Raw to record the message that was cut from DDT’s live stream.

Whilst his feud with Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins appears to be at an end, Nakamura has wasted no time in returning to the ring. The 2018 Royal Rumble winner defeated Akira Tozawa on the 6th November edition of Raw and is set for a tough battle against Otis on the upcoming 13th November episode.
