WWE Forced To Scrap Major Plans For The Vision
WWE has had to pivot multiple times leading up to WrestleMania 42 due to major injuries, and The Vision faction’s direction has been completely changed as a result.
The Vision, Raw’s most dangerous heel faction, has now been reduced to two men: Logan Paul and Austin Theory.
First, Bron Breakker suffered a hernia in training and needed surgery, putting him out of action indefinitely. Then, a couple of weeks ago, on Raw, Bronson Reed tore his bicep during his Elimination Chamber qualifying match, which he was supposed to win.
This led to a sudden change from WWE, and Jey Uso emerged victorious. However, that same week on SmackDown, Main Event Jey was attacked by mystery men and carried out in an ambulance.
This allowed Logan Paul to get in the Chamber, which he did after winning his bout on SmackDown.
But a major twist unfolded in the Elimination Chamber Match when the masked man who had been terrorizing The Vision for weeks was revealed to be a returning Seth Rollins, who cost Paul the match.
Rollins, who was the faction’s formative member before getting kicked out by Reed and Breakker last year, is now back to exact his revenge. Or so the WWE universe thought.
On Raw this past Monday, masked men ran amok once again, and Rollins attacked a helpless Paul Heyman.
The Usos, meanwhile, brawled it out with Logan Paul and Theory in the same show after Jimmy Uso’s singles bout with Austin Theory saw interference from Logan Paul, and subsequently Jey Uso returned to help his brother as the pair used crutches to beat up Paul and Theory, even landing a 1D on Theory.
With Rollins’ direction unclear, and Heyman now written off TV, it seems that the remaining members of the faction will fight The Usos for Tag Team Gold.
Dave Meltzer Claims Original Plans For The Vision Were Scrapped By WWE
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio explains how it all came to this after WWE had to make multiple changes and scrap their original plans for The Vision.
So they’re doing the tag team title feud. Yeah, with — they were — that was always, you know, before all these injuries happened — the Usos were going to do, you know, a big tag team title feud with a Vision tag team. You know, which at first was probably going to be Reed and Bron Breakker.
And then, you know, when Seth got hurt, it was probably going to end up being Reed and maybe Logan… or maybe even Theory, I don’t know.”
So now it’s down to Theory and Logan, you know, because Reed got hurt.
