There appears to be a plan in place for Royce Keys in a match at WWE WrestleMania 42.

Royce Keys made his WWE debut at the 2026 Royal Rumble, and since then, he hasn’t been seen on WWE television at all, other than clips from his podcast interview with Stephanie McMahon.

While Keys looked impressive in the Royal Rumble, the lack of a follow-up has sparked criticism over WWE’s decision to debut him in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The fan response was adequate but not as loud as it might have been from an American crowd for someone like Powerhouse Hobbs, who was known in AEW for over five years.

The good news for Keys and his fans is that BodySlam+ is reporting that WWE is planning to have Keys team up with singer Jelly Roll at WrestleMania 42. The idea is that Jelly will gain an ally in Keys because the two men have overcome many hardships in their lives, yet they remain successful.

On WWE SmackDown in Phoenix, Jelly Roll was on Miz TV, and of course, it led to an argument with The Miz, who took shots at Jelly for being fat in the past and thinking he’s an inspiration now. Kit Wilson joined The Miz in trashing Jelly Roll, prompting Kit to say Jelly was “toxic.” Jelly threw a punch at Wilson, who moved, and Jelly punched Wilson. Later in the show, Wilson said he’d call out Jelly Roll next week on SmackDown.

With WrestleMania 42 set to take place in 35 days on April 18 & 19, WWE will have to move quickly to bring Royce Keys back to television as an ally of Jelly Roll and put them in a tag team match, perhaps against The Miz and Kit Wilson.

Royce Keys Has Big Plans For WWE Career

During his lengthy interview on Stephanie McMahon’s What’s Your Story? podcast, Royce Keys spoke about the major career goals that he has as a WWE superstar.

“To think that I’m making my dreams come true. I tell people I’m not satisfied with this. I love it – it’s a great introduction. But I plan on rewriting things, being here until I say, ‘You know what, I think I want to step away. I want to help this company in a different way,’ whether that’s backstage or whatever. I have goals and plans that I’ve written out.

This is a hell of an introduction – better than what I imagined it was going to be. I knew it was going to be big, but it was even better than I thought. But this isn’t it. I’ve got so much more to give – so much more. I want to entertain even more.”

Based on the report about his potential WrestleMania 42 match with Jelly Roll, it sounds like Royce Keys will get another opportunity to build on his legacy even more.
