In what has now become a woeful post-WrestleMania trend, WWE released several talents on Friday.

It is a way for the Stamford promotion to revitalize the active roster by bringing fresh faces from its developmental brand, NXT. While in some cases, it chooses not to renew a contract because it is about to expire soon, in other cases, they are just plain releases.

Wrestlers like Nikki Cross and Andre Chase took to social media to thank the company for the opportunity as they look to open other doors for themselves.

Alba Fyre, in what may have been a subtle jab at WWE, compared her main roster character to NXT’s Kay Lee Ray, claiming that “Fyre” was the inferior version.

Before joining NXT in the United States, Fyre was a talent on NXT UK, where she held the Women’s Championship for 649 days.

Elsewhere, Zelina claimed that she got the call from TKO, while also bashing Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful for breaking the news before she could tell the world herself.

Meanwhile, the company has moved several names to its alumni page on the official website.

Chelsea Green Breaks Silence After Alba Fyre’s WWE Release

Chelsea Green has been out of action for several weeks after injuring her foot during a match on SmackDown.

Green served as the leader of The Secret Hervice faction, which comprised Alba Fyre and Piper Niven. In mid-2025, Niven was pulled from TV after she suffered a career-threatening neck injury. With Fyre now released, the faction has practically been disbanded.

While it is unclear when Green will make her next in-ring appearance, fans have speculated that the date might be close or else the company would not have potentially let go of the Scottish wrestler.

Chelsea Green also took to X to share her thoughts about Fyre’s release, calling her “fearless.”

You guys didn’t get to see how talented KLR is. I know you saw bits & pieces, but trust me, there’s so much more to her. She’s a fearless wrestler…
I’m sad to not have her on my side but this is just the beginning for my girl.
Thank you for having my back, Slaygent A. Love you!

Rhea Ripley, who became the Women’s Champion at WrestleMania 42, called it a sad day, while also encouraging her former peers to prove their critics wrong.
