WWE Receives Major Warning Regarding Oba Femi
Oba Femi started a new storyline on WWE Raw after slaying The Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar, at WrestleMania 42. His new storyline involved him issuing an open challenge to the Raw locker room, daring people to come out and face him.
His first two victims were Grayson Waller and Otis, whom Femi squashed in under two minutes: one minute and six seconds for Grayson Waller and one minute and 49 seconds for Otis. On this week’s Monday Night RAW episode (May 11), Femi continued his open challenge. However, nobody showed up to challenge him.
An agitated Oba Femi then went backstage and dragged Los Garza (Angel and Berto) to the ring to fight them. He squashed both of them in under one minute in a two-on-one handicap match.
While some believe that this open-challenge storyline for Oba Femi might help build his reputation as a destruction machine, others think that WWE is wasting his potential by putting him in such a generic storyline.
Veteran Urges WWE To Book Oba Femi In A Stronger Storyline
Speaking on a recent episode of Keepin’ It 100 Official, veteran Disco Inferno shared his thoughts on Femi’s current storyline in WWE. According to Disco, Oba Femi needs a strong angle with a weekly television build, which would lead to a big match in the near future.
He added that WWE needs to put Femi against a particular superstar, not throw random superstars at him, otherwise it will be a waste of his potential.
Oba Femi needs to be put in an angle that’s episodic television, leading up to a big match. He needs to do a few of them. All he’s doing right now is just beating a bunch of [guys]. They’re literally just picking guys off the roster, putting them in the ring to beat. This has been done before with Bill Goldberg.
And it’s like we do not want to wait around for years’ worth of, you know, for Oba Femi. He needs to call somebody out. What they need to do is something where he’s kind of like takes a step, like somebody’s bullying somebody. He can step in. He needs to get into an angle with somebody.
I still don’t know how he’s, you know, he did that in NXT, he’s done nothing like that in the main roster so far. (From 2:33)
