WWE Makes Major RAW & SmackDown Announcement

WWE recently made a blockbuster announcement regarding Raw and SmackDown.

During the broadcast of night one of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide’s Noche de Los Grandes event, the Stamford-based promotion officially announced its 2026 Mexico Live Tour. It will be a massive crossover scheduling move, with WWE and AAA swapping territories for a huge weekend, coinciding with AAA’s two-night Triplemania 34 festivities.

WWE Is Moving Weekly Television Broadcasts To Mexico City

On Friday, September 11, WWE will take over Mexico City for SmackDown, while AAA will run Night 1 of Triplemania 34 live from Las Vegas. On Sunday, September 13, AAA returns home to host Night 2 of Triplemania 34 at Arena CDMX in Mexico City.

Then, on Monday, September 14, WWE will hold Raw, broadcasting live to a global audience. Before that, the Stamford-based promotion is also set to run a South America live event tour in September:

  • Wednesday, September 9: Live Event (House Show) in Guadalajara
  • Thursday, September 10: Live Event (House Show) in Monterrey
  • Friday, September 11: Friday Night SmackDown Live in Mexico City
  • Monday, September 14: Monday Night Raw Live in Mexico City

WWE taking Raw and SmackDown to Mexico is a strategy to expand internationally. With AAA hosting Triplemania 34 during the same weekend, the Stamford-based promotion is using the opportunity to bring its flagship TV shows to Mexico City for the first time in 15 years.

The move also aligns with WWE’s push to grow international viewership through its streaming partnerships, capitalize on Mexico’s strong wrestling market, and showcase top Latino stars in front of a passionate local audience.

Those who missed Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide’s Noche de Los Grandes event, here are the results:

  • Rey Fénix defeated Laredo Kid (c) by pinfall to win the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship.
  • El Hijo del Vikingo (with Dorian Roldán) defeated El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. (c) by pinfall to win the AAA Latin American Championship.
  • The War Raiders (Erik and Ivar) defeated Pagano and Psycho Clown (c) by pinfall to win the AAA World Tag Team Championship.
  • El Grande Americano defeated “The Original” El Grande Americano by pinfall in a No Disqualification Lucha de Apuestas (Mask vs. Mask) Match.
