It looks like one WWE superstar will remain out of action for several weeks following on update on the 8th January edition of Raw.

On the Day 1 edition of Monday Night Raw to kick off the year, Giovanni Vinci was teaming with Ludwig Kaiser as they went up against Kofi Kingston and Jey Uso. During the match, Vinci went for a springboard in to the ring which was met by a dropkick from Kingston.

However, the move connected directly with the chin of Vinci whose head then hit the mat as he went down. Medics were quickly in the ring to check on the fallen star, with the referee then stopping the match and awarding the victory to Kingston and Uso.

Vinci Out “For Several Weeks”

Whilst Giovanni Vinci confirmed on the night that he was alright following the incident via a post on social media, there had been no talk about timescales for when he may return to the ring.

On the 8th January edition of Monday Night Raw, Michael Cole confirmed on commentary that it would be several weeks before Vinci would be back in action.

On the same show, Ludwig Kaiser gained a measure of revenge when he beat Kofi Kingston, whilst Seth Rollins also found out who the next challenger would be for his World Heavyweight Title.
