WWE Plans For Raw & SmackDown During Holiday Season Revealed

wwe raw happy holidays

There are some new details about what WWE is doing for Raw & SmackDown during the holiday season.

What makes World Wrestling Entertainment so unique to their fans is that it’s a year-round show that doesn’t take any weeks off, except the upcoming holidays.

Christmas Day falls on a Monday this year, which means New Year’s Day is also on a Monday. The good news for WWE fans is that the company is planning on doing a live edition of Raw on New Year’s Day in San Diego. However, there is a different plan for Christmas.

As reported by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the Christmas Day edition of Raw will be a taped “best of” show.

“It appears the 12/25 Raw will be a best-of show since there is no show being taped but WWE hasn’t publicly confirmed it but one executive there said that to the best of his knowledge it was accurate.”

In 2022, the Christmas edition of WWE Monday Night Raw took place on December 26th. Instead of a live or taped show, WWE ran an episode called “The Absolute Best of 2022.”

As for SmackDown during the holiday season, Meltzer reported that the December 15th tapings in Green Bay will see WWE tape the December 22nd episode as well since the talent roster will be given those days off.

WWE Raw Star Appearing On Tribute To The Troops Edition Of SmackDown

The December 8th edition of SmackDown is the annual Tribute to the Troops show while also continuing current storylines on the blue brand.

A big name from Raw will be on the show as well since WWE announced that Cody Rhodes will be there. In addition to Cody, WWE is advertising the following things for SmackDown:

* CM Punk is coming to Friday Night SmackDown

* Randy Orton & LA Knight join forces against Jimmy Uso & Solo Sikoa

* United States Title Contender’s Tournament: Dragon Lee vs. Santos Escobar

* Bobby Lashley vs. Karrion Kross in a pair of Matches

* Charlotte Flair takes on Asuka of Damage CTRL

For CM Punk, it will be his first time on SmackDown in about ten years. What might he say? Tune in to SmackDown on FOX to find out.
