A WWE Hall Of Famer thinks NXT is ready to introduce a new championship.

Booker T is a two-time WWE Hall of Famer who has been an NXT announcer seated next to Vic Joseph since the fall of 2022. Booker T is there to lend his wrestling expertise as a former WWE World Champion, Tag Team Champion, and a guy who not only trains wrestlers but also has his own indy promotion as well.

In NXT currently, they only have one singles title for women to win, the NXT Women’s Title held by Lyra Valkyria, who defeated Xia Li on November 21st to retain the championship.

The women of NXT could go after the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles since they were merged with the now-defunct NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles, but those titles appear to be featured mainly on the main roster.

When looking at the male roster, they have the NXT Championship, the NXT North American Championship, and the NXT Tag Team Championships.

Should NXT Add Another Women’s Singles Title?

There are times on NXT programming when the company featured 15 to 20 women on the show and have had four or five women’s matches on recent episodes as well. With that in mind, Booker T explained on his Hall of Fame radio show that NXT should have a second women’s title.

“Yeah, man. I feel like it’s time to. I feel like it’s time for NXT to get another title just to give everybody a piece of the action, a shot at the apple, excuse me, a bite at the apple.”

“But I would love to see that for the ladies because right now, the ladies are killing it, as well as in NXT. A lot of the ladies have left NXT and they’re moving to the main roster.”

The WWE NXT brand will have the final WWE Premium Live Event of 2023 on December 9th when Deadline takes place featuring Ilja Dragunov defending the NXT Title against Baron Corbin along with two Iron Survivor Challenge matches.
