WWE News: Two Matches Added to Super Showdown on June 7, Updated Lineup with Five Matches

TJR Wrestling

The next WWE main roster pay-per-view style event after tonight’s Money in the Bank show is Super Showdown in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It takes place on Friday, June 7 and will air live on WWE Network.

Two more matches were officially announced for Super Showdown this weekend. The first match that WWE announced was Braun Strowman vs. Bobby Lashley in a matchup between two of Raw’s biggest men.

The other match WWE announced this morning is from Smackdown. It will see the Intercontinental Champion “Demon” Finn Balor taking on Andrade in what should be a great matchup since they have wrestled a few times recently and it has been outstanding every time.

What’s interesting about that is WWE is advertising Balor in the “Demon” look, which likely means he is not going to lose since he has yet to lose a match as “Demon” Balor. It also makes you wonder why he wouldn’t be the “Demon” when he faced Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title at Royal Rumble. It’s not like WWE would try to answer that. They just throw him out as the “Demon” once in a while. I guess because WWE makes a lot of money on these Saudi Arabia, they probably feel like it is justified to have him put on the face and body paint to be the “Demon” Balor for this match. I don’t see a title change happening there.

A Universal Championship match hasn’t been announced yet, but @WrestleVotes on Twitter noted that it is expected that Seth Rollins will defend the Universal Championship against former champion Brock Lesnar at Super Showdown. I assume that hasn’t been announced yet since Rollins is defending the Universal Championship against AJ Styles tonight at Money in the Bank.

Here’s the lineup so far:

The Undertaker vs. Bill Goldberg

Triple H vs. Randy Orton

50-Man Battle Royal

Braun Strowman vs. Bobby Lashley

Intercontinental Championship: “Demon” Finn Balor (c) vs. Andrade

We should more matches in the weeks ahead.
