WWE News: Sasha Banks To Appear In The Mandalorian (VIDEO)

It looks like yet another WWE Superstar is branching out into the world of the silver screen, though this particular world is located in a galaxy far, far away.

The twitter account for the hit Star Wars-based show The Mandalorian shared a trailer Monday morning for the much anticipated second season, and in it was none other than The Boss herself, Sasha Banks, who also broadcasted the news:

Banks appeared in the trailer just shy of the one-minute mark, decked mysteriously in a black cloak and hood and devoid of any typical alien makeup. No other details on her role have been divulged at this moment, but judging from this appearance, she seems to be more than a simple passing cameo.

Well, that seems to be the case at least for the first episode of the upcoming second season, which is due out on October 30. That’s just in time for whatever is this virus-ravaged year’s version of Halloween. Maybe Banks’ Mandalorian costume will be a hit seller. Also, maybe not.

The Mandalorian — available exclusively on Disney+ — follows the story of a Mandalorian bounty hunter named Din Djarin, played by Pedro Pascal, and is set five years after The Return of the Jedi.

(In the Star Wars mythology, “Mandalorians” are the warrior people who inhabit the planet Mandalore. Their most famous denizen yet is Boba Fett, made famous from The Empire Strikes Back. He had an awesome look that featured an awesome helmet and armor, and that has carried over into the show. I guess this little sidebar is more for the few people who have never seen the Star Wars movie franchise.)

Banks now joins the ranks of such guest stars on The Mandalorian as Carl Weathers, Werner Herzog, Brian Posehn, Nick Nolte, Taika Waititi, Jon Favreau, Gina Carano, Amy Sedaris, Ming-Na Wen, Bill Burr, Giancarlo Esposito, and Jason Sudeikis, with Rosario Dawson set to join the cast in the new season.

Sasha will be the first wrestler to appear as a guest on The Mandalorian. I figured Batista would’ve taken up this mantle by now but nope, Sasha Banks will be the one to break that barrier on this show.

Meanwhile, Banks is scheduled to return Friday to WWE Smackdown after being out for two weeks due to Bailey’s attack.

It would be very amusing if they fit Sasha’s upcoming appearance in The Mandalorian into a promo Friday night. I would not put it past the folks at WWE.
