Drew McIntyre is a multi-time WWE Champion.

In addition to winning the world title, McIntyre has also got his hands on the tag titles and the Intercontinental Championship in the past. The one title that has eluded him is the United States Championship, preventing him from achieving the Grand Slam Champion status.

Another wrestler who has endured a similar woe is McIntyre’s close friend Sheamus. While the Celtic Warrior has won the US title, he has been deprived of the Intercontinental Championship and the Grand Slam Champion status by extension.

Drew McIntyre recently appeared on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight podcast, where he took a jibe at Sheamus.

When asked if he saw himself or Sheamus first become the Grand Slam Champion, The Scottish Warrior picked himself while stating that WWE might give him the title just to rib his former 48-year-old rival.

Me, definitely. I’ve got no plan to do it, or don’t know when it will happen, but if he keeps talking about it, then they’re just gonna rib him and just give me the US Title.

Sheamus has previously expressed frustrations with creative as far as his status as a potential IC Champion is concerned.

Drew McIntyre Reveals His Retirement Plans

At age 40, Drew McIntyre remains one of WWE’s top talents. He currently performs as a heel and is involved in a feud with Jacob Fatu, with both men scheduled for an Unsanctioned Match at WrestleMania 42.

During the Attitude Era, WWE mocked WCW for featuring aged wrestlers in the main event. The promotion has been using the same tactic of late, which has come to bite it as far as public opinion is concerned.

Cody Rhodes explained how it’s not about featuring older wrestlers in the main event scene, but rather about experience.

Speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Drew McIntyre revealed that he had no interest in slowing down as long as he was checking all the boxes.

Yeah. I mean, I know my wife feels like it’s gonna be a lot shorter than I probably feel it’s going to be, especially with how I feel now and how creatively fulfilled I feel these days.

But as long as I’m happy, as long as she’s happy, and as long as the fans are happy with what I’m doing, I don’t see any reason to slow down anytime soon, especially when I see guys getting up there in age right now and moving as well as they’re moving right now, because we’ve just moved so far forward with athletes.
