WWE Makes A Shocking Move
WWE is pursuing a highly controversial move that could affect online content creators and streamers.
Today, the internet is home to a large number of reaction videos, a sub-genre of video content creation, where streamers react to random videos or movies before sharing their thoughts about them.
While streaming live events or films in their entirety on platforms like YouTube or Twitter violates certain guidelines, there are rules in place to do it legally.
According to a report by Jeremy Lambert of Fightful.com, WWE has begun a crackdown on online streamers and content creators reacting to its videos.
Lambert has claimed that the wrestling promotion is issuing copyright strikes to people who share their videos online.
World Wrestling Entertainment has reportedly taken down and sent copyright strikes to a number of streamers and content creators over clips and reactions.
This action comes as a surprise, considering the Stamford promotion has previously teamed up with multiple streamers by sharing videos of their reaction on its social media platforms.

WWE Working With A Specialist Company To Target Streamers
Reacting to popular videos online is a great way for streamers to earn income through various platforms.
With World Wrestling Entertainment now starting to issue legal notices, every online content creator who uploads wrestling content finds themselves in the line of fire.
Despite the internet being a hub for reaction videos, the Triple H-led company has found a way to target streamers by partnering with a specialist company.
Fightful has revealed that the wrestling company has teamed up with StreamEnforcement, which uses bots to track streamers.
Even Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer reported that the promotion is tightening up its screws on which platforms are allowed to show its content online.
Itβs a lot of WWE reaction video creators. Went down sometime in the past three weeks. Big names all dinged and having to pull all their stuff.
Alvarez also shared that the company’s action seems to have shocked some insiders as well, as online content creators are one of the sources to spread the word about the happenings inside the company.
A lot of people shocked about it including in WWE, because those vids did push the product hard to large audiences.
World Wrestling Entertainment Tried To Ban WrestleMania Broadcasts In Las Vegas
Weeks before WrestleMania 42 was scheduled to take place, several media outlets claimed that World Wrestling Entertainment was planning to ban the airing of The Show of Shows in public places.
The report claimed that the distributor of WrestleMania broadcasts informed several establishments in Sin City that they would not be able to broadcast WrestleMania 42, even if they paid a licensing fee.
Apparently, the protocol was put in place for all businesses that were within 50 miles of Allegiant Stadium, where the event was being hosted.
The reason behind the blackout was believed to be to increase ticket sales for the event. However, the local businesses pushed back, forcing the wrestling promotion to call off the ban.
It remains to be seen how the online content creators and streamers react to the company’s latest decision.
