A huge NJPW star could become the latest big name to join WWE.
It’s been reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider that WWE has “massive interest” in signing Giulia. The star is the current NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion and is widely regarded as one of the best female wrestlers on the planet. In the report, Johnson suggests that it would be a “no-brainer” that the sports entertainment giant would be interested in the star.
Furthermore, the 29-year-old is expected at the Performance Center sometime in November.
It was believed that Giulia could be heading for a showdown with Mercedes Mone, but it’s since been reported that there are currently no plans for Mone to return to New Japan or Stardom.
WWE Miss Out On Sarray
The news comes after WWE missed out on re-signing Sarray. The star instead decided to join Sukeban.
The star known as Sareee outside of WWE announced she’d signed with the company in February 2020, but her move was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She finally made her in-ring debut in April 2021 but failed to recapture her Japanese success, leaving in early 2023.
The promotion had already secured the signing of Kairi Sane, with the star making her return at Crown Jewel on November 4th.
