WWE Locker Room Reaction To AJ Styles’ Retirement At Royal Rumble
AJ Styles’ career has come to an end tonight at WWE Royal Rumble.
Several months ago, The Phenomenal One announced his plans to end his wrestling career in 2026. Over the past few weeks, he entered a feud with Gunther after the latter retired John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Tonight at Royal Rumble, the former WWE Champion put his career on the line against The Ring General. Sadly, the match did not end in his favor, as Gunther emerged victorious, forcing Styles to hang up his boots.
The WWE Locker Room Is Heartbroken Over AJ Styles’ Retirement
On the Royal Rumble post-show, Bryan Saxton provided an update on AJ Styles, disclosing that he had isolated himself after the heartbreaking loss.
Meanwhile, Saxton disclosed the backstage reaction to The Phenomenal One’s retirement.
In a perfect world, AJ would be right here. I’d be able to get some real time feedback. But I think we can also all understand the fact that Styles wanted to spend some time alone, trying to truly process the events of this evening. From a reactionary stand point, you would be hard pressed to find a dry eye. And that just speaks to how much AJ Styles meant to the WWE locker room, not just as a competitor, but as a highly pricipled human being. And it’s that high level of integrity that tells us why, shows us why AJ Styles indeed upheld his end of the bargain and concluded what has been a phenomenal, phenomenal career.
