WWE Expanding Live Events Schedule; Triple H & Nick Khan Reveal Why
WWE drastically cut down on house shows after the pandemic era. It was done to maximize profitability and reduce talent burnout.
Under TKO Group Holdings’s new regime, the company reduced its touring footprint from 300 live events to nearly 200. However, after years, WWE has now decided to reverse this decision by announcing a new 2026 Summer Tour.
During a recent town hall meeting, WWE President Nick Khan and Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque revealed that WWE is bringing back more house shows to allow younger talent to refine their craft before they are launched on TV shows.
It was explained that house shows provide younger talent with the opportunity to experiment, develop their skills, and test out their characters without strict timing and millions of people watching them on live television. It was also revealed that WWE is now at a financial standpoint where they can bring back the non-televised shows.
Nick Khan and Triple H also noted that, despite bringing back house shows, the company is heavily focused on making sure that talent does not get burned out because of the new schedule. To prevent roster burnout, the new tour will strategically balance younger talent alongside established veterans.
