WWE star Seth Rollins is currently out nursing a shoulder injury and is expected to return at WrestleMania 42

Seth Rollins suffered a legitimate shoulder injury at Crown Jewel 2025 in his match against Cody Rhodes. The following week on Raw, Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker of The Vision would exile Rollins from their stable, effectively ending Rollins ‘ heel run, association with Paul Heyman, and serving as an explanation for Rollins’ absence due to injury.

WWE reportedly has plans to bring Rollins back for WrestleMania 42 for a match against Breakker to logically continue the feud. However, Rollins is yet to be medically cleared to perform, and WWE has a backup plan in mind in case that doesn’t happen on time or at all.

At Royal Rumble 2026, Breakker was sent in at #2 and eliminated immediately by Oba Femi after he was attacked by a masked mystery man with a Seth Rollins-esque curb stomp and rolled back into the ring. The man behind the mask is yet to be revealed and could turn out to be Seth Rollins, but if Rollins isn’t medically cleared, WWE can pivot and have someone else under the mask and continue Breakker and The Vision’s current feud with Raw General Manager Adam Pearce.

The latest discussion on Wrestling Observer Radio talked about why WWE is holding back on confirming Seth Rollins for his planned WrestleMania match with Breakker.

WWE Could Pivot To Plan B If Seth Rollins Is Not Medically Cleared By WrestleMania

During the discussion, Garrett Gonzales said that WWE’s current booking of Bron Breakker suggests that Rollins is on his way to a WrestleMania return. Dave Meltzer agreed, but said that WWE is not making anything certain as of now.

They’re going with that idea. Yeah, I think that they think it’s going to happen, and he’s going to be ready. I don’t know if it’s 100%. You know, you can always, you know, there’s always changes.

But I, you know, that elimination… I mean the thing is, is that they can unmask it. Like if he’s not going to be ready, they can unmask it. It can be anyone. You know what I mean? It doesn’t have to be Seth Rollins.

But Seth Rollins is the idea. Yes. Which makes sense storyline-wise. I mean Bron’s the one who put Seth out of action, you know, in storyline. So you know, Seth has to come back as a baby face now after all that heel stuff… again against Paul Heyman.
