It has been almost two months since WWE fans saw Edge on their TV screens but that is about to change after the star’s return was confirmed on SmackDown.
Edge last appeared on WWE television on the May 12th edition of SmackDown when he was part of the tournament to crown a WWE World Heavyweight Champion. AJ Styles won that triple threat match which also included Rey Mysterio to move on and since then the Rated-R Superstar has been absent from the company.
Now on the 1st of July edition of SmackDown, the WWE Hall of Famer’s return to television has been announced as he is scheduled to be the guest on the Grayson Waller Effect when SmackDown returns to Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 7th.
Edge’s return to WWE could likely begin building up a match for the star at SummerSlam which takes place on the 5th of August in Detroit although who that match could be against remains to be seen. Should that happen it would mark Edge’s 12th appearance at the biggest party of the summer.
Also advertised for the July 7th SmackDown is Austin Theory defending his US Championship against Sheamus and AJ Styles going one-on-one with Karrion Kross.
